WP Secure – free plugin lets you lock down 23 security holes in your WordPress blog

Sitesecuritymonitor

The good folk at SiteSecurity Monitor have released an excellent free WordPress plugin for self-hosted blogs which lets you lock down 23 vulnerabilities in a default WordPress installation, all from a single page in your admin panel.

All you have to do is download and install the plugin and follow the guidelines in the admin. The interface is excellent for newcomers and experts alike, and it really does make it a simple, one click exercise to make your blog more secure. You’ll need to have a little expertise in some of the more arcane settings, so be cautious about activating everything on there, but the devs give a nice set of explanations to help you out.

There’s a lot of blog hacking going on nowadays, which makes this tool a ‘must-have’ if you’re serious about your blogging.

WP Secure by SiteSecurityMonitor.com is a plugin that was developed as a benefit to the community for free from the leading Malware and Web vulnerability company – SiteSecurityMonitor.com. We developed this for our customers initially, and decided to release it to the community.
