XLink BT Gateway – banish your fusty old landline for evar (unless you need broadband of course)…

The XLink BT Cellular Bluetooth Gateway – or beetie beatie for short – connects your cell phone to your old redundant cordless landline handsets. So you can make calls throughout the home without having to worry about cell signal drop outs in the kitchen etc. You need to find one spot in the premises with good mobile phone reception though, and then make sure that the other handsets are within Bluetooth range, which is not a trivial matter for those of us who live in extremely large mansions. Of course most of you don’t have that problem, do you? $79.99.

The XLink BT connects up to three cell phones to regular corded or cordless telephones Do you no longer have a landline? Have you decided that paying for a landline every month is no longer necessary? Then you need the XLink BT. The XLink BT allows you to use your cell phone through your regular home telephones. Your cell phone can be left charging in a convenient location. If your cell phone rings – all the phones connected to the XLink ring. Make outgoing calls using the telephones connected to the XLink even though you no longer have a landline! Using Bluetooth wireless technology, the XLink BT communicates wirelessly with your cell phones. There are NO extra cables to buy. Whenever your cell phones are placed within range, the XLink BT will automatically connect to them.

Hmmm…is this not a case of trying to invent the wheel?
How many people would actually use this I wonder, to be honest I dont see it as being a commercial success.

I would say that the majority of the people in the UK no longer use landlines for anything other than their internet connection, I think that to be honest this technology is about 6 or 7 years outdated, also I do believe that if you did have a landline then odds are you would also have a wireless phone, so does that not do away with the need of somehow having my cell hooked up to one of these?

    Or have I missed something?

NCPLH personal license training courses are now being run UK wide to help individuals and companies comply with licensing law.

    • around 10% of people cant get a decent signal at home unless they go in the garden or maybe to a particular bedroom upstairs. This system can free you up to make calls from anywhere on your cordless land line phone, while your mobile sits upstairs or in the garden shed.
