XT9 – predictive text grows up

The XT9 Mobile Interface is a new version of the T9 predictive text tech which we all know and love from our happy hours spent sending SMS messages. What, you mean you don’t use predictive text? Tsk. The upgrades include faster mode switching between touchscreen, QWERTY and keypad, and a pretty cool error correction feature which corrects the word if it thinks that you hit the wrong key by mistake. Personally I’m a bit of a fan of T9, so this all sounds very good and it’s about time that a few of the deficiencies were sorted out. Fingers crossed eh? Arf.

XT9 Mobile Interface for standard mobile phone keypads offers faster, easier, text input with the integration of several new technologies. Key features include a word prediction list and spelling correction which spots transposed letters and missed keys, as well as instant integration into all applications on the device. XT9 helps ensure a better messaging experience by compensating for users tapping incorrect keys or missing keys on the keyboard or keypad. For example, someone hoping to type the word “tomorrow” would still get the correct word even if they erroneously typed 86666769 or “tommorow.”
