If you asked someone a century ago what life would be like today, they’d probably tell you that we all will have jetpacks and flying cars. Sadly, there are few such devices in existence today. We don’t really have any flying cars that will get you around, and the few jetpacks that we have are so expensive that few people will ever own one. However, a new water jetpack has been released that costs only a fraction of previous ones.

This newest creation comes from jetski racing champion Franky Zapata, who obviously knows a bit about traversing water. He’s crafted a device that combines jetpacks and snow/skateboarding. You have a pair of thrusters on your arms, and another on a board that’s strapped to your feet. This allows you to do far more than simply hover in the air. You can skip through water, and do aerial tricks. The best part is that this Flyboard only costs around $6,600, far less than the $100k you’d spend on the competition.
