I avoid using earbuds for a couple of reasons. First, I don’t like the way most of them feel in my ears. No matter what I do, they just don’t seem terribly comfortable. The other problem is that regardless of how carefully I wrap them up, when I reach in my pocket to pull them out, all I find is a jumbled mess of cord. It’s like they were designed to unwind, and somehow tie themselves in the most complicated knot possible. Well one company is hoping to curb that last issue with a new set of earbuds called Zipbuds.
Zipbuds are rather ordinary earbuds, except that the cord has been ran through a zipper. The zipper is flexible enough to be wrapped up in your pocket, but not enough to turn into a tangled mess. So why a zipper? Well when you want to use the buds, just unzip it enough to separate the two pieces as far as they’re needed to fit in each ear. When you’re done, just zip them up and shove them back in your pocket. They come in five different colors and will set you back around $40.
