IdPhotos 2008 is a passport and ID photo freeware program. Back in the day, to get a passport photo all you needed to do was grab the nearest Polaroid and a pair of scissors. Nowadays, it’s all precision portraiture, with eyes here, chins there and only white space behind. Nonsense of course, but it keeps the bureaucrats happy. Wow it’ll be great to get rid of them, won’t it?
Anyhoo I digress. So this program sets things out nice and easy. What’s more it has a very useful error handling feature, so if your photo is not up to ID specification for your country it will stop the process wizard and throw up a nice phat red warning. The result is you should get pics good enough to satisfy any border fascist, if that’s your happy.
It comes with a bunch of templates for 25 different countries as well as requirements for 70 types of ID including driving licenses, passports, visas and whatnot. The ‘online’ version is free (not sure what that means, except it calls home, presumably to line up advertising) and there’s a full standalone version for €149.00. This is excellent stuff, and well worth the download for the toolbox.
IdPhotos 2008 is an advanced but easy-to-use tool designed for automatic image processing of ID photos so that they meet the specific requirements of international ID regulations. Version 2008 is based on two years of experiences and more than 10 thousand successful installations.
