Breakfast on the Bridge – turfing the coathanger

breakfastonthebridge Breakfast on the Bridge turfing the coathanger

Just a quick plug for my home town, Sydney. There’s an October-length festival going on here at the moment called Crave, celebrating all things great about living in Sydney including food.

As part of the festivities, the Sydney Harbour Bridge was closed for 12 hours on Sunday morning and 10,000m² of turf was laid across it temporarily for the inaugural Breakfast on the Bridge event. Not bad considering it’s over a kilometer in length. Around 6,000 randomly selected people enjoyed brekkie on the turf before the heavens opened after lunch. More photos here and here.
