This City Lights Globe is a 6″ globe that gives you a realistic view of the Earth from space as it moves from day into night. It’s just like sitting on the ISS except all the countries have names! As the surface of the globe passes into night the city lights come on. Pretty nifty, however I’m just trying to figure out if the globe is actually tilted at 23.5°, the terminator looks like it might be angled, the equator definitely isn’t. Anyhoo, it’s US$59.95.
The City Lights Globe effectively captures the ethereal beauty that befalls the cities around the globe at night, as darkness fills the skies and the buildings and streets respond by lighting up the surface. If you’ve ever sat at a vantage point, overlooking a city skyline at dusk, you know what this experience is like and, if not, then the City Lights Globe is the perfect chance for you to witness the way the earth lights up at night.
