The Spider Player freeware program is an MP3 player, Internet radio recorder and CD ripper in one. The software comes with its own in-built Net radio index of a huge number of stations, categorised by genre. Just pick your genre and station and start recording.
The basic free version only records in 5 minute segments, which is enough to grab individual tracks manually, but if you want to suck down large amounts of audio, you’ll need to cough up $19.95 for the Pro version. I’ve got to say there’s nothing totally fancy about the player, so it’s really a matter of whether you think it’s worth the upgrade for the extra time (bearing in mind there are other totally free recorders without the time restriction).
32-bit sound processing for crystal clear sound Spider Player can process sound with double precision internally. So even if your sound card is not capable of output in such resolution, the sound quality is still improved. The difference is especially noticeable, if DSP effects (such as peaking equalizer) are enabled.
