Setting up your computer area can be a simple task, or a project that consumes a good bit of time. It mostly depends on how much you care about how the area looks when you’re finished. When I move, I’ll spend hours planning out where each piece of furniture will go, so as to maximize space and functionality. If you’re wanting to go for a minimalist look in your house, you might try this clever IKEA hack.
Shaun Bowman had been looking at some IKEA BESTÅ BURS shelves, which are made to mount on the walls and hold DVDs. He noted the strength and durability of the shelving unit, and decided it would be perfect for his new desk. With that, he set to mount it to his wall, cut holes for cabling and set up his computer. In the end, he was left with a great minimalist desk with a fold-out keyboard tray. Not too shabby for a day’s work.
