If you’ve had to work with audio files very often, you know how much of a pain it can be. Sure, it’s a piece of cake if everything is in the right format to start with, but that is rarely the case. You have to try and find software that is going to let you convert what you have into what you need. If this is an issue that you’ve encountered, you might consider giving FreeMake’s Free Audio Converter a try.
This piece of freeware not only lets you convert many popular audio formats, but is great for joining together audio files, and extracting audio from videos. It’s fairly lightweight as well, as it is only around a 10MB download. My only gripe is that it can’t be used to rip MP3s from a CD, but that functionality will soon be added.
