One of my favorite gadgets is my tablet. It serves so many functions, and bridges the gap between my smartphone and laptop. Surfing the net, jotting down notes, watching videos and reading books are all regular tasks accomplished with my favorite device. I will say that holding it up while I’m reading in bed can be a bit of an annoyance. There’s just never a good way to lay, and hold it up. Certainly something of a first world problem. What better way to overcome it than with an expensive tablet holder?
To be fair, this Flote is actually a beautifully crafted piece of work. Rather than relying on knobs and bolts to keep it in place, the hand-machined ball joint assembly does all of the work for you. No tightening or loosening something to get it to hold your tablet in just the right spot. It’s also 100% US made, which is always nice to see, rather than outsourced construction. You’ll have to decide whether or not it’s worth the $245 that you’ll need to pledge on Kickstarter to get one. Do bear in mind that 45 of those dollars are for shipping, as the machined metal weighs over 25 pounds.
