Virtual reality has been “on the rise” for some time now. We’ve seen all sorts of devices that promise us a ‘true’ virtual reality experience, but they all feel a bit off as they just let us see things in a new perspective. All we want is to feel like we’re actually becoming the character in a game, is that too much to ask?
If you want to do more than be a spectator to a game, you can give the Wizdish a go. This is a disk combined with special shoes that read the friction the two of them make. It’s a bit rough as you need to constantly keep your feet in contact with the disk, but it’s about as slick as a bowling ball lane. It is said that this will be well-paired with the Occulus Rift when it’s all finished up. No word on pricing or release yet.
