How’re ya doing? Good? Excellent. Well let’s have a go at dampening that enthusiasm by introducing you to a new little map which displays a real time view of all the global cyber attacks currently being logged by Kaspersky Labs right now. Feeling a little uneasy yet? You will be.
The Kaspersky Cyberthreat Real-Time Map does exactly what it says on the tin, in that it gives a real time view of all the current cyber threat events the company is currently dealing with across the globe.
It also gives a click by click view of each country’s relative standing in the ‘Most Infected‘ rankings, and you also get some hard core stats on the number of different types of threats happening across different platforms, like email, web etc. For the records it looks like Russia is the number one most infected country, with the USA at number four.
It’s all jolly pretty, with lots of pretty whooshing lights and pulsing stuff going on, so it’s perfectly family safe for your gran or great aunt. However, if you understand what you’re watching, it’s quite worrying. To put it into context, every day Kaspersky handles 300,000 malicious objects. Three years ago that number was just 70,000.
