HAL 9000 Screensaver – sorry, we can’t do that Dave… [Freeware]

Once upon a time there was a movie which featured a black monolith and lots of amazing shots of outer space. No not Pluto Nash, we’re talking 2001: A Space Odyssey, so ahead of its time that the CGI folks in Hollywood are only now starting to catch up. And one of the stars of the show was a computer.

The HAL 9000 computer was state of the art dangerous, and for fans all over the world you can now relive the terror moments with your very own HAL 9000 Screensaver. The new version has updated HD graphics, and there’s even a glorious soundtrack file you can access on the site which will deliver a bit of the 2001 eerie audio track. Goosebumps.
