There’s no fail safe way to keep your kids (or your pet cat) off of your computer, especially if you’re running your business off the kitchen table in a small apartment. But you can do something to preserve your sanity and your files.

Toddler Keys is a simple program to at least protect your work if not your keyboard.  Once activated, it will lock the screen and whenever a button is pushed, a picture and/or a sound, which you have uploaded especially, will be featured. There’s not a lot else to the program, but what it does it does well, and its small size and easy set up makes it perfect for a family that needs something right now.

Parents who are really crafty can turn the lock screen into a learning game, or just fill it with paintings of Cthulhu and the gang with matching sounds of terror, so your child learns to stop touching the computer once and for all. Either or. Toddler Keys is free and available for download over at CNET.
