Everyone loves the kitchen. There’s food in the kitchen. Everyone loves food. Here are five kitchen apps and gadgets to help you get the most (fun!) out of your kitchen.

1. The Drop

Have you ever watched a really old lady cook? They just throw things into a pot and like magic, it comes out perfect. No measurement cups, nothing, just pure intuition. You’re probably not that good but the Drop lets you fake it.

This device combines with an app to help you perfectly measure out ingredients for a variety of recipes. This device will even give you suggestions if you’re a little low on an ingredient so you don’t have to scrap the whole project. The Drop is $99.95.

2. The Fridge

Speaking of being low on something, the Fridge app will keep you posted on when things are going to go bad. Unlike your actual fridge which just lets you find out by surprise. You do have to tell the app what you’ve picked up from the store but at that point it will start tracking how long that food has to go before it hits the bin.

The Fridge is 1.99 from the App store.

3. CinniBird

If you like your food pretty then this is the gadget for you. It’s a “spice pen” in the shape of an adorable bird. It lets you decorate your food with spices like you see in fancy restaurants and lattes from cute cafes.

You can bring the same artistic touch to your food with this cute and quirky little gadget. It’s easy to use and really, fun for everyone. The CinniBird is $34.90.

Spherical-Ice-Ball-Maker

4. Spherical Ice Ball Maker

Artisan ice is such a thing right now. You may not be a baller but that doesn’t mean your ice can’t be. This device sort of presses slabs of ice into a ball.

It’s not all cool looks though, the ice doesn’t melt as quickly so your drink doesn’t get all gross and watered down while you’re chit chatting. The Spherical Ice Ball Maker is $399.99.

Mr-Coffee

5. Mr. Coffee Smart Optimal Brew

Oh sweet black bean of life! Many people can’t quite get it together before they’ve had their morning cup of Joe. The Mr. Coffee Smart Optimal Brew is a coffeepot that works when you do all controlled from your smart phone.

The coffeepot lets you schedule your brew times from your smartphone with the use of the app WeMo. In fact, you can tell it to start making your coffee when you’re on your way home. So it will be fresh when you get through the door. Or even from bed as soon as your alarm goes off. The Mr. Coffee Smart Optimal Brew is $149.99.
