Hickies Elastic Laces – turn your sneakers into slip ons

The marketing blurb says ‘designed for an active lifestyle’, but we’re thinking what they probably mean is quite the opposite. These Hickies Elastic Laces are clearly made for those who would prefer not to have to bend over and laboriously tie up their laces. They’re for couch potatoes like you’n me. OK, maybe not you.

The product works very simply. Just remove your existing laces, and replace them with the set of silicon rubber fasteners which are fit and forget. Once they’re in, all you have to do is slip your foot into the shoe and the fasteners will expand just like a slip-on elastic. No more having to bend down, tie things and curse your growing belly.

The product is available in a wide range of colors, and look to be really easy to use. In fact they’re so well designed that you can set them to provide tight, loose and regular comfort, which is very neat. One size fits all, and the product costs $14.99 for a pack of 14 which is enough for a pair of shoes.
