Unagi – the travel agency for stuffed animals

unagi

We live in strange times. On the one hand peace and prosperity stalk the globe, on the other we find ourselves desperately short of strange things to imagine and create. How else to explain the Unagi Travel Agency?

This Japanese tour agency has been formed specifically for the purpose of giving plush toys a well needed vacation in Japan. The process is simple. Simply select from one of the available tours, place the order (tour prices start at $35), then send your ‘stuffed animal‘ by post to the address given in Tokyo.

Once the little critter arrives the tour will start, and be documented on the company’s Facebook page. The furry friend will also send a postcard from the trip, and return with a commemorative photo of their vacation. The adventure is only open to up to 10 animals at a time, and each one is insured up to $100 against any unfortunate accidents. OK, that’s it. Time for a lie down now.
