One company set out to put an end to people losing their digits to word working equipment and created the SawStop Professional Cabinet Saw, the wood saw that won’t chop off your fingers.

At first glance this looks like your normal run of the mill saw, ready to slice boards and hands alike. This one is a bit different though. The blade has a tiny electrical signal that the main system monitors constantly. When the blade touches skin, which is conductive, it kicks the system to stop running the saw, thus saving your fingers.

It doesn’t just stop the blade; it removes it so the momentum doesn’t accidently cut you anyway. Once the crisis is avoided, resetting the saw blade is easy to do and you can get back to working in a few minutes.
