Elephone S7 – Cheapest Samsung Galaxy Edge Alternative! [REVIEW]

The Elephone S7 has a familiar look, but an unexpected price for what it is capable of!

At around $200 to $250 (price varies from flash sales) you’re getting a very snappy device that looks great. Okay let’s be honest, we all know that the Elephone S7 looks A LOT like the Samsung Galaxy Edge 7 and 8, but that’s not a bad thing. The bezels on the side are very nice. The back cover is plastic, but very shiny. It does attract a lot of fingerprints, but which phone doesn’t these days?

First thing I want to address is the finger print scanner. It’s very fast, you just place your finger on it an the device unlocks: neat! That’s also the only button on the front of the device. You have to use the finger-print-scanner-button to go back in apps or do other manoeuvrers.

As stated above in this article, the speed of the Elephone S7 is very good. With a Helio X20 chip and 4GB of RAM it’s a very fast device without any lag. The only time I had issues, was when it had to do the first updates out of the box. With everything else, it was very snappy. Although the Elephone S7 is fast, it tends to miss out on some notifications, which can be annoying over time.

The camera on the Elephone S7 is not that good. Images and videos are over sharpened and look a bit weird. This is probably where they cut costs to keep the price low. The screen is full HD and looks very nice, but you need to get used to it. In apps like Youtube for instance, they also have the over sharpened look.

All in all, this is a good device for the price. If you’re looking for a replacement device for when your main driver is broken, the Elephone S7 will definitely do the trick! Or if you’re looking for a good first Android phone, this can be a good call!

I’m going to use the Elephone S7 for the next week to see if it’s really any good and write/film a new update on it when my week is finished! Which me luck. If you’re interested in the Elephone S7, you can find it here. We also have a coupon code: “GBMBP”  /  8% off  (mobile category coupon)
