Mailwasher Free. The free version of the veteran anti-spam program Mailwasher is back.
I have to say that I’m noticing a significant – repeat significant – reduction in spam reaching my inbox. In fact 10 days ago I uninstalled Spam Inspector from my machine because it had become superfluous. Hotmail and my four main ISP accounts together are now delivering a mere handful of spam messages each day. The flipside is that one of my main ISP accounts is now being so vigorous that it’s bouncing a fair amount of legitimate mail, so I’m having to watch that very closely, which is a pain. But the new filters that many ISPs are putting in place certainly seem to be working – for me at least.
One side note, I am now not so sure that all my messages get through to people and vice versa, which is going to make for an interesting dynamic going forward, isn’t it? At what point does unreliable email become a liability rather than an asset?
