Clean Energy Goals Met – Britain does great for the first half of the year

Britain is really serious about going clean when it comes to energy and clean energy use has overtaken fossil fuels for the first half or so of 2019. This is a big deal and such great news. Just one more example that it can be done which is great news for the world as a whole.

The positive changes are being driven by the need to cut down on emissions and slow down climate change. Clean energy accounts for almost half of all energy that has been generated in Britain, still coal and gas for the rest as well as biomass burning. Hopefully in the coming months the rate of coal and gas will drop even further.

This is such a big deal because we’ve been getting our energy through fossil fuels for a very long time, since the Industrial Revolution. But much like child labor, it’s time for that trend to be retired.
