Playdate – the hand crank video game system

Video games are great. Almost everyone plays them, yes, even that silly app you spend a few minutes during your commute on matching candy or jewels or whatever counts. Everyone plays them. Anyway, if you’re looking for something strange and new in gaming, check out Playdate.

This is a small, handheld system that comes with a season of games designed just for it. Which is neat but the reason why you can’t play them anywhere else is because the system is crank controlled. On the side, there’s a little hand crank that you use in addition to the standard buttons.

Not every game uses the crank but for the ones that do, it’s an innovative take on games. The series has 12 games that will automatically download to the system. You’ll know what they are when you get them. A neat little project that you can get in on for $149. Check out the site for more details.
