My 5 year old has this toy. Its basically a rollable vinyl sheet coated with glow-in-the-dark paint, and a high-intensity strobe (like a camera flash.)
The 5-6 year olds at his party played with it for quite a while.

[...] The Discovery Shadow Magic Kit, is a very interesting peice of technology. It apparently freeze’s shadows, and by that i mean, you could physically walk away and leave your shadow behind. I’m not sure how or if this works, but if it does, imagine the evil things you can do. Personally i would take it to my little cousins house, and freeze the shadows, which i would then say “You shadow doesn’t like you anymore, but for a small fee i can fix it”.
