Wubi is a free program you can use to quickly and easily install Linux on your Windows machine. Run the proggie, choose drive, size, password and language, press ‘Install’ and you’re done.
The beauty of this little tool is the fact that it does a ‘no-partition’ install, so you can install Linux, play around with it and uninstall it instantly via ‘Add/Remove Programs’ if you don’t like it. Or if you do like it, you can make the dual boot install permanent with another small utility. If you’ve been thinking about trying out Linux but were put off by the tech complexities, then you should definitely try this. Superb!
How do I install Ubuntu? Run wubi, answer the few questions, reboot and select “Ubuntu” from the boot menu, go grab a coffee and when you are back Ubuntu will be ready for you.
