Scientists have come up with a glucose fuelled battery which can produce 2.4 microwatts from a single grape. They now hope to start trials using the biofuel cell inside insects and small animals. Which sounds a bit yeuch actually, although they claim it will be useful for use with tracking modules and the like.

The Visual Route Server site provides a very cool Java application to trace a route from their server to any other server you define. It also lets you track any problems with your own ISP service and see where any logjams are by tracing a route back to your own IP address. Along with the Internet Traffic Report, this looks like a great connection troubleshooting tool.
