Lotsa bottle.

I love this bottle cap tripod idea that Joel picked up at The Giz. It’s fab, especially at only $9.99. But I simply adore the super tiny Cullmann Presto MiniPod which I bought recently to carry around. It’s literally pocket sized at 16.5cm (but extends to a whopping 65cm/2.2 ft) and is built like a real tripod, not one of those flimsy quick-break junk things you find at airports. It’s a bit pricey at 60.00 delivered, but worth the extra…

eVac-uate.

No, I’m not really sure why the new eVac Robotic Vacuum sits in a photo with two traffic cones. Maybe it’s part of the optional turnpike cleaning attachment? But the master feature of this $299.95 product -apart from the Trilobyte smashing price of course – is the fact that it comes with a toggle joystick RF remote control, thus ensuring that carpet cleaning shifts firmly and irrevocably into the province of the gadget man about the house! Guys, we’ve been…

Heart to heart.

Mmm…interesting. Pop-rock group Heart (sold 30 million records, 21 top 40 hits) have just released their latest album – Jupiters Darling – on the TrustyFiles P2P file sharing service. Actually since TrustyFiles is simply a P2P aggregator, they’ve effectively released the album to Kazaa, Gnutella and eDonkey. OK, so Heart is a 70’s band, and it’s clearly a little bit of marketing flam, but still… ‘The files are in Windows Media Player format and can be played on most major…

Mod mad.

When I were a lad…[sigh…Ed]…the idea of modding referred to trick paint jobs on Ford vans. Now it’s all about computers. 21st Century rubbish, pah! ModFest 2004 The UK’s first national modding contest.

Bubble Gear.

Apparently these Bubble Gear fashion bags come with all mod cons, including an integrated acrylic fish tank with water tight lid. Sounds a bit..ahem…fishy to me. ‘Bubble Gear was specifically designed for a small Betta Fish to live comfortably within. Due to their human like lung, Betta Fish are able to live in a filter-less environment and are completely content in small areas. Suprisingly, [sic] the fish feels very little to no movement when the bag is in motion due…

Ministry of Pink.

Mmm…the funkadelical Ministry of Sound has just announced the launch of a pretty pink MP3 player with a difference. The 79.99 XS Rainbow Stix 128MB player comes pre-loaded with the ‘exclusive’ DanceNation 2004 album ‘to get you grooving straight-off.’. How long before we start seeing music players on sale with full music collections on-board, eh? I reckon a Beatles Gold Edition iPod could be kinda groovy.

Master pieces.

Master Replicas. This is probably the only place worth visiting for those absolutely essential movie and television replicas. Like this $349.00 Limited Edition Star Trek Tricorder. Geek heaven. ‘The top portion of the Tricorder prop flips up to reveal the display screen and the control panel with three buttons that activate three different effects. One button lights up the display. Another button activates the familiar warbling sound effect. The third button controls the rotating circular moir display concealed behind the…

Timeless.

The Timeless Treasures Clock. $29.95. It’s not just that you can insert photos of all your loved ones at strategic numerals (should the wife go at number 1 or number 7?). Or the fact that you can record twelve 5-second messages which will play every time the clock strikes an hour. Or even the fact that the blessed thing has a light sensor which deactivates the hourly message when the room is dark. Nope, it’s the fact that you can…
