Car seat automatically identifies occupant, joy riding set to plummet soon

There’s facial recognition, car and household alarms and a variety of other high tech security measures that help keep our things safe. But the Japanese have taken this to a new high (or low) with a car seat that can identify who’s sitting in it. Scientists at The Advanced Institute of Industrial Technology in Tokyo have created a pressure car seat that uses a system of 360 pressure sensors that can tell who’s sitting in the seat. It’s 98 percent…

What if your guitar never needed to be tuned?

Anyone who plays a stringed instrument likely has a tuner, or magical tuning powers. (aka perfect pitch) For those of us who don’t have super human capabilities, we have to use a tuner, and hope that it is functioning correctly so we don’t mess up the song we’re about to play. However, even if we’re right in the middle of a song the strings can still work their way out of tune.

Star Trek Electronic Door Chime

Coming home from work is a cause for celebration because it means you can sit and watch Star Trek until you have to sleep. Although, it’s a little bittersweet because you can only be a spectator to such a fantastical world. You keep hoping and praying that somehow the TV will engulf you so that the only job you’d have to worry about would be on the Enterprise.

Tubalr gives you a cleaner interface for watching YouTube music videos [Daily Freeware]

YouTube is one of of the most revolutionary websites to come out of the last decade. It gave us the ability to not only share new video creations of our own, but to watch commercially-produced videos any time we wanted. Of course, it took a long time for the record labels to agree to have their music videos on the site legally (with advertisements and such), but now it’s pretty easy to find most songs that you want. When there’s…

blip.me turns your phone into a walkie-talkie [Daily Freeware]

When I was a kid, my brother and I had a pair of walkie-talkies that we loved. We would always carry them around, regardless of what game we were playing outside, so we could keep in constant contact. These days cell phones have pretty much rendered such devices obsolete (though they do still have their uses, I admit), but if you want to recreate those youthful days, you can do so with a free app for your smartphone.

Can your phone case double as a 65-inch projector?

Any movie buff wants to be up on their movie knowledge. However, if your lifestyle has you on the go all the time, then you’re likely not going to get to see the films that you want to watch on a regular hotel tv screen. This is where things like the Sanwa 400-PRJ011 iPhone Micro Projector can come in handy.

Bacon Drink Tabs bring the taste of bacon to every glass of water

There is a certain understanding for loving something. People can love something, and not be completely insane; it’s a normal thing. However, whoever made these Bacon Drink Tabs, something is definitely not right with you. Of course, I mean that in the most endearing way you can say it, but a flavor of such caliber should not be reduced to a mere tablet.

Would being paid for each visit make you more likely to hit the gym?

If you work a job that requires you to sit at a desk for the better part of your day, getting down to the gym is generally a good idea. Whether you want to tone up or shed a few pounds, you’ll find everything you need to get a proper workout there. So why do so many people (myself included) find it so hard to make it there on a regular basis? Sometimes it seems like no matter what you…

Write-On LED Message Board makes sure that your message won’t be missed

It seems that no matter how many sticky notes you write, or however obvious you may make the task, you can’t help but forget to do things around the house sometimes. Let’s not pin this whole thing on you either, this also includes family members, roommates, and spouses. Whether it’s because it doesn’t stand out enough, or the recipient of the note just isn’t paying attention, sometimes you just need an extra attention grabber to get the point across.

Morning Mug wakes up with coffee, just like you

In the morning, you get up, grumble, and shuffle to the coffeemaker to turn it on. You are forced to wait, rather impatiently mind you, as the brown ambrosia drips down at breathtakingly slow speeds. However, you find that once you have your morning fix of caffeine, you’re bright-eyed and bushy tailed, and all seems right with the world.
