Volafile – insane, addictive, anarchic real time chat and file sharing explodes onto the eyeballs

We’ve been around the block for a while, so we’re not easily surprised. Really. But very occasionally something pops up on the radar which rocks the shocks. The new Volafile service is one of those. Think of a combination of IRC, Chatroulette, Mega anonymous file sharing and throw a gratuitous MP3 radio station into the mix and you’re kind of close.

If there is one profession which has had a huge impact on modern civilization, surely it must be the engineer? In under a century, these unsung heroes have propelled us from an almost primitive parochial lifestyle, to one where we think nothing of traversing the world in less time than it takes to visit the dentist. But when we look back at the early days of engineering driven industrial production, is it really that different to today?

Yezz Andy A5 – a budget Android smartphone? I’ll stick with my iPhone for now, thanks… [Hands-on]

Electronic Dictionary Bookmark – add some digital intelligence to your book reading habits

Ebooks have taken over from traditional printed books with their ease of use and portability. However, there are still some people out there (like me) who prefer reading books the way they are meant to be, on paper. However one cool thing about electronic versions is being able to just tap a word and get a definition pop up while we’re reading. Sadly up till now, that luxury has not been available for printed books.

Immerse-A-Clean wand cleans without toxic chemicals

Every household has an array of cleansers tucked into a cabinet somewhere. Most contain harsh chemicals that we’ve become used to using . But there are greener alternatives. The latest of these is the Immerse-A-Clean wand, by Texas-based GenEon Technologies. This industrial cleaning device can turn regular tap water into an effective sanitizer, glass and all-purpose cleaner, using only electricity and a non-toxic catalyst. This is a compact, portable and battery-powered device that uses a bucket or other container that…

Lenovo Yoga Tablet 10 – we test the groundbreaking 18 hour tablet and stand impressed [Video Review]

The launch this week of the brand new Lenovo Yoga Tablet range marks a new direction for Android tablet computers in general. The new devices, which come in 8 and 10 inch formats, may not offer many surprises in terms of architecture and performance, but they do feature some very cool features, including a ground breaking 18 hours battery life. We spend some valuable standby time putting the larger 10 inch Yoga Tablet 10 through its paces to bring you…
