SMS Alarm – keep losing your phone while it’s on silent mode? Fear not. Install this and relax. [Freeware]

Hands up if you have had a ‘lost phone’ moment sometime in the last three months. Yeah it’s easily done isn’t it, and it’s always at the most awkward moment, just when you’re leaving to catch that flight or pick up the elderly parent or something equally urgent.

Earth Alerts – live map of our planet’s natural hazards makes for compulsive viewing (+Freeware]

You don’t have to live in an earthquake zone to appreciate the benefits of knowing if and when things are going to get a little hot and sticky at any time. And by things, we mean natural disasters. Versus Touchtab 10.1 Inch Tablet – you paid HOW much for your Galaxy Tab? [Review]

Progress is a wonderful thing. Take computing for example. Just a scant few years ago we were all lugging around very heavy, cumbersome lunchbox computers which couldn’t compute their way out of a paper bag, and now look at us. Buycott – finally there’s a guilt free way to shop [Freeware]

It’s hard to remain a ‘concerned’ citizen nowadays because you can never tell whether a product you’re buying comes from a company whose ethics are questionable or worse. There are so many different degrees of ownership in the major corporates, that it’s almost impossible to trace who owns what when it comes to consumer products on the shelves.

BlueGriffon – open source web editor is a great tool for both beginners and experts [Freeware]

For some reason web editors, tools to help code and build websites, appear to have fallen out of fashion. Maybe it’s the rise of themed CMSs or just a decline in demand, but there aren’t that many of them being marketed any more. Unlike, say, video editors.
