Nothing says Mr Cool more than these Temporary Geek Tattoos. Honestly. You’ll have da ladeez flocking to your cubicle faster than you can say Al Gore, you watch. Mostly to giggle. $7.99 a pack of 16. Born to Code, eh?  Well, actually, you don’t lick these – you gently wet them. But in about 30 seconds, you’ll have a beautiful tattoo emblazoned on your flesh. Immobilizer Cell Phone Stun Gun – eerily realistic stun and flashlight combo

The scary thing about the Immobilizer Cell Phone Stun Gun is how much it looks like a real mobile phone. Instead of a harbinger of…like you know…pain and destruction. The 900,000 volt handset also comes with a totally realistic hip holster and a 12 LED flashlight function. But please don’t forget and hold it up to your ear for a call, will you? $84.95.  This ‘cell phone’ can’t call for help but with 900,000 volts of protection you won’t need to!…

Bank of Life – turn an old bottle into a piggy bank…and profit

The Bank of Life is a small gizmo which turns an old pop bottle into a piggy bank. Complete with coin counter, kinda. $8.87 makes you Frugal McFiggis all right.   At first, you should find a empty bottle and wash it. Clean up your partner so carefully. Next, take a Bank of Life and put on a bottle. Finally, Let’s start to be a millionaire. Maybe this is really funny journey. But, you never ever give it up! Tags:…

Phonak Audeo – the art of the stylish hearing aid

The new Phonak Audeo has got to be the world’s most elegant and discreet hearing aid. Actually, according to the blurb it’s a Personal Communication Assistant, so we’d better be careful with our words. Anyway it comes in 15 different colour schemes and features two microphones, high frequency optimisation and a shed load of technology to help you hear better in difficult environments. All of which should make you feel much relieved as you contemplate the $4000.00 or so you dropped into…

Rino 520 Two Way Radio with GPS – navigate and chat in remote locations

The Rino 520 Two Way Radio with GPS crams a lot of cool tech into a rather small body size. It has a 14 mile communication range, offers turn by turn directions and swappable GPS locations between handsets. The 56 MB of memory lets you store up to 500 waypoints, and the rechargeable battery gives 16 hours of use at a time. Not bad. No word on whether you have to make those cool ‘squelch’ noises every time you push…

Power Failure Light – no more fumbling in drawers for matches, Marge

The Power Failure Light is an innovative solution to the age old powercut – “aaargh, where’s the flashlight?” – problem. Install it in your room lamp and when the power goes out it will bloom into life automatically and give 8 hours of illumination via six LEDs. The integrated rechargeable batteries juice up automatically once power is restored, which means you don’t have to fiddle around changing batteries either. Powercuts in the 21st century? Sheesh! $39.95.  This device attaches between the socket and bulb of…

Jakks EyeClops Bionic Eye – television microscope brings your life into focus

Jakks EyeClops Bionic Eye is a little handheld microscope that you plug into the television to view things close up in all their glory. How close? Well let’s just say that if 200 x magnification is not enough, perhaps now’s the time to revisit that optician down the street? Kids will probably have a blast with this gizmo, although we’re not sure that viewing our receding hair follicles in that kind of detail is really necessary. Or desirable. They may…

No Limit Memory USB Drive – buy 1 GB and get one free…online

The Dane-Elec No Limit Memory USB Drive is rather clever. The deal is that you get 1 GB of online storage space thrown in for free when you buy the flash memory stick, which is used for backing up your data. It’s not done via the Web (probably FTP storage?) and you get a 12 GB a year bandwidth limit, but it’s still a pretty neat idea. Not really ‘no limit memory’ though, is it? Ah well. I-Sobot – the world’s smallest fully functioning robot?

Apparently Tomy’s I-SOBOT  (no not Tony’s, his is bigger) is the world’s smallest fully functioning robot. I’m pretty sure it doesn’t mean ‘functioning’ as in a ‘take me to your leader’ kind of way. More like a ‘17 servo motors and gyro-sensor’ thing. Anyhoo, it’s six inches tall, follows your voice commands and can play air guitar which may or may not be worth $299.99 to you. Here’s a couple of nice videos to keep you amused for a second…

Portable USB Turntable – convert your old vinyl to MP3 in the park…

This ‘ere Portable USB Turntable is a bit of a rum affair. Apparently there’s a group of folks what have a need to convert their classic vinyl albums into MP3 tracks while pottering about in the garden. No really. Maybe there’s a latent demand in people to record in strange places, you know, to give their sounds an airing so to speak. We’re a tad confused. But hey, whatever floats your greenhouse. £89.95 ($180.10 – man is that dollar hurtin’!)  Converting old discs is a doddle. Simply…

EPOS Wireless Digital Pen Mouse – handwriting capture and computer control in one slim device

The new EPOS Wireless Digital Pen Mouse offers handwriting capture as well as full mouse control in one. Draw, sketch, click drag drop. You get the picture. The good news is you don’t need a special pad or paper in order to capture your signature or other works of art. However I’m pretty sure that I’d hate reverting to a basic two button mouse, no matter how exotic. Of course your mileage may vary. Available later this year in OEM versions for around…

Blackbox Bluetooth Speaker – dark, sensuous and rich, and that’s just the packaging…

OK, so we’re really bored with wireless audio speaker thingies by now. But that said, let’s tarry a while and enjoy the minimalism of the Blackbox from Gear4. Black, cherry red LEDs, elegant. 24W from twin speakers, Bluetooth enabled to accept audio from your mobile phone handset and touchscreen controls. £99.99. There’s a Blackbox Mini version at £49.99 too.  It features a hidden LED display that comes to life with your tunes and touch screen controls, so that nothing detracts from…

Creation Station – home video fun with software and a green screen

The Creation Station toy kit promises to deliver a tidal wave of low resolution, squirm inducing kid’s home video nonsense to the Web before you can say Steve Spielberg Sucks. The box comes complete with a green screen, compositing software and a VGA res camera with tripod. The kicker is the automatic YouTube upload, which sends shivers up the spine immediately. As does the TV ad previewed on the site. This does not bode well for the future of Internet video, peeps. Priced from…
