Wolfgang Keyboard Bench – Awesome bench made of computer keys

With e-waste a growing worldwide problem, a bench made of keyboard keys could be an ideal solution. The Wolfgang Keyboard Bench is certain to add style to any room. Designed by Nolan Herbut, this sturdy bench is made from around two thousand recycled computer keys embedded on the surface of a Baltic birch wooden bench. Not sure what it’s like to sit on, but you can actually push down each and every key since they’re attached the same way keys…

The Amfibus Bus – floats like a butterfly, swims like a…

Gotta love this new Amfibus floating bus. Dutch built, being trialed in Scotland to replace an expensive ferry service. BBC report. Sounds like a good idea if you’ve got £700,000 hanging around to spare. The thing can carry 45 passengers and when in the water is powered by two jets. Kind of like a huge jet-ski we guess. Who said tech wasn’t fun? Watch the cool video (life rafts under the seats? Awesome). Tags: boat, bus, transport, amfibus, amphibious+bus

Beaver Energy Wood Powered Car – just chuffin’ along…

The Beaver Energy Wood Powered Car points us towards a future where things huff and puff, while moving significantly slower than they do now. Sound good? Then pop along and buy some Wood-Gas Blueprints for $15.00 and convert your own vehicle. Toot-toot. [Update: ooh look, a Swedish version. Thanks Peter!]  Assemble this wood gas generator from recycled water heaters. Convert an internal combustion engine (100-cubic-inch or greater displacement) into your own home energy system or use the generator to run…

Peel P50 – the smallest production car in the world

The Peel P50 is the smallest production car in the world. It’s currently being made to order in the UK, comes with a moped engine and will cost you the princely sum of £15,000. When they were originally produced in 1962 they cost around £199.00 each, so that’s some inflation folks. Tags: peel+p50, motor+car, vehicle

Mission One – world’s fastest electric motorbike…whoa where’d it go…?

Behold, the Mission One – the world’s fastest electric motorbike. How fast? Well we’re talking 150mph and $73,000, or roughly $487.00 per mph. That’s how fast. Think of it as your wallet rapidly disappearing over the far horizon and you’ll get the picture. But silently. Oh green world, how fickle thee be.  Its liquid-cooled AC induction motor and single-gear transmission also eliminate the distraction of shifting. There’s no need for a gas tank, with a next-generation lithium-ion battery pack that runs a…

Cherrypal Africa – the 99 dollar laptop is here at last

Well here it is, the Cherrypal Africa. The $99.00 laptop finally arrives, and blow me down, the spec is not too shabby. Seven inch screen, 400MHz processor, Ethernet, WiFi, touchpad, 3 x USB ports, SD card slot, USB HDD slot, internal speaker and microphone. About the only thing missing is an internal webcam. Runs Linux or Windows CE, which is more than enough to do the basic essentials in life like surf and murph. Weird how things turn out eh?  The…

Miguel Caballero High Security Fashion – crime lord fashionistas listen up…

Miguel Caballero likes to think of itself as the Armani of bulletproof fashion wear, featuring all sorts of designer apparel designed to prevent bullets from entering rich client flesh. A quick browse through the catalogue of the new American website reveals such delights as this Tuxedo Shirt (never know when you’re gonna be popped at the opera eh?), a very trendy leather bomber jacket (!) and a positively Silicon Valley-esque Polo Shirt. Now we’re trying hard to be fair here, but the truly poignant part is how obvious it is…

2010 Hyundai Equus – the world’s first 250km/h massage chair

The new 2010 model Hyundai Equus limo apparently cost around $300 million to develop and is aimed head on at the Merc, BMW, Lexus end of the car market. You can’t fault the Koreans for bringing it to the table either, since the thing bristles with enough tech to rival the space shuttle. The £80,000 5 litre flagship model features a bulletproof option (for Soccer Moms on a mission, no doubt) as well as a 17 speaker sound system, heated steering…
