Electric Loog – learn to play guitar with this three string instrument

Electric Loog in use

All the cool kids are playing the guitar but you don’t know how. Sad face. Don’t worry, all hope is not lost, the Electric Loog is a small, three string guitar that wants to help you learn how to play.

This is a real guitar, even though it only has three strings. That supposedly makes it easier to play (especially for small fingers) and won’t keep you from mastering what you need to know to play full sized versions.

The guitar comes unassembled and you build it yourself (kind of like a skateboard if you’re into that sort of thing). It pairs with a iOS app that includes video lessons to help you learn actual songs instead of just scales that you will have to apply to songs. It comes in four different colors or a Lucite version for whatever look you’re trying to go with. It’s marketed for kids but nothing is stopping a grown up from picking it up and learning a thing or two. The Electric Loog starts at $135.
