Refuel Smart Propane Gauge – make sure your BBQ grill stays ready to go

Refuel with Tank

I love barbeques! Favorite type of food in the summer. But there’s nothing worse than settling in for a good old cookout and finding that your tank only has enough gas for a single burger. So the Refuel Smart Propane Gauge is my summer hero.

The Refuel gauge sits under the base of the propane tank, like a little donut ring on the bottom, and connects to a magnetic sensor. When you want to know the state of the fuel in the tank, just tap the sensor, or if you’re out and about check your smartphone app so you can know whether you need to buy a new tank while you’re in the hardware store. You can check it from anywhere.

Refuel App

As anyone who uses propane grills knows, judging how much you have left in a tank is really a guessing game and comes with a degree of risk. Basically you just lift the tank and the lighter it is, the less there is in there. But this isn’t exact and you’re really just guessing at if there’s enough to get through a full party or just half of one. The Refuel actually tells you how much is left. Not in mystical terms but in real world measurements. The Refuel Smart Propane Gauge is $49.99.

  • Interesting product. In case anybody is wondering how it works, I found some details.

    The Refuel propane
gas gauge has a plastic and rubber base which functions as a
scale for the propane tank—measuring the tank’s weight to calculate how
much propane remains. the display/transmitter module is connected via
heat-resistant cable, can be attached to the grill or tank magnetically, and talks to the Wink app via WiFi. Requires 4 AA batteries.

Bought mine on impulse at Home Depot this past weekend, $30.

    • Thanks for the feedback. :)
