Shadow eBike – Transports you and charges your gadgets

Image

The Shadow ebike could just be the electric bike. It combines lithium battery technology with a cool looking bike that any outdoor enthusiast has gotta love.

Manufactured by Canada’s Daymak Inc., the Shadow gets rid of wires and spokes, substituting a wireless breaking system, a wireless throttle and a wireless pedal-assist system. It comes in 500W or 1kW versions powered by either 1 or 2 batteries. The single battery should see you going 50km on a charge (maximum of 20 slope), while the dual will send you 100km (maximum slope of 30). The bike itself weighs 26kg (60lbs).

Add to that a 110/240V charging system that charges the 36V battery from an external power source, and provides USB power for your iPod, cell phone or other electronic toys while riding. The first release is priced at $1,499 for the 500W model and should be on the market in June, but only 300 bikes will be made.

Most ebike malfunctions or breakdowns are caused by wires being cut off or loose contacts or by weak controllers. The Shadow Ebike with its technology solves all these problems. The Shadow Ebike has been designed from the ground up and it features the Daymak Drive controller with wireless support. The controller talks directly to the throttle, brake lever and pedal assist. First of its kind and developed by Daymak in Canada, the controller also features more torque, better battery management, regenerative brakes, and dual motor support.

  • Great idea and made in CANADA not china somebody has done their homework ,really just a little pricey but good job CANADA.

  • Looks kinda shady. Notoriously little content on the site. 3 pictures and the one showing the mechanics looks fake. No SSL required, form prompts for credit card info which would be sent in clear text if it were provided. This is highly suggestive of a phishing site or just criminally incompetent ecommerce practices.

If it is legit VISA will fine them in to oblivion if they make any sales at all.

    • Better check with the Canadians on that one Mike. After all it's made in Canada by the Canadians. You're right though. It's a lot of money to be sending without SSL.

  • They rip people off including this wheelchair bound person who bought their rickshaw 3 wheel electric , it showed up 31 days later severely damaged , front forks broken and twisted , headlight burned out , rear light burned out , back tire busted in two , mirror broken and refused to replace the bike ect ect ect , it took over 70 days for them to send replacement parts and they tried to charge the disabled man for repairs , the bike was meant as freedom instead it left a disabled man who had to save up money for months broke and afraid to trust it .
