And we each have our own way of making the big choices in life, using a pin, a lucky Shamrock, asking the lady down the post office. counter. But now there’s a pretty cool alternative.
We stumbled across an interesting article by Matthew Ingram the other day, lamenting the loss of the old ‘blogosphere‘. What made it especially poignant was the fact that it was posted on one of the prime examples of the new corporatized ‘blog’, Gigaom, which many years ago transitioned from small and friendly to big and rich. It’s progress.
For those of you with a passion for people watching there are few more poignant examples of the human condition than seeing dreams and aspirations come and go. And nowhere can you find that in more stark relief at the moment, than on the pages of Kickstarter, the online crowdfunding service.

In case you missed it, there’s been a massive flaw found in one of the most widely used technologies on the Web, called OpenSSL.
