Muzei: Turn Your Phone Into An Art Gallery Full of Old Masters [Freeware]

Muzei

Changing your phone’s background is one of the things that helps keep your cell personal. Pictures of family, friends, and pets are common of course, but now there’s an app for people who get tired of looking at the same thing day in and day out.

Muzei is a free Android wallpaper app  which focuses specifically on classic art. It starts off with Starry Night by Van Gogh and from there gives you a new daily painting from an old master. Instant culture snob! By default the pictures appear blurred on the screen so you can still clearly see all of your icons, no matter how busy the painting is. However, if you double tap on the background, it will clear the picture so that you can view the art work itself.

You can also pop into the app itself to learn more about any particular work that interests you and share them with your social media. If you’re into sharing art (which everyone should be.) There’s also an option for using your existing photos as well as a number of extensions available that feature landscapes, space, and more. Muzei is free for download. Viva la Arte!
