Triggertrap – turn your phone into a camera trigger

Triggertrap in use

So you want to take a selfie but you want to take it with your fancy big person camera, not your cell phone. You can put on a self-timer and hope for the best or you can use a trigger. If you happen to have a Nikon of Cannon, you can turn your cell into a trigger with the Triggertrap.

You physically connect the camera with the Triggertrap cord, download the free app to your phone and you’re ready to take some rocking pictures. You can use it as a simple trigger but it is also chock full of other features. All in all, there are 14 different trigger modes that you can use to explore your photography.

The downside of this handy gadget is that it only works with Nikon DC2 and Canon E3 model DSLR cameras. Also, while using the app, normal phone features (calling, texting, etc) should be disabled so as not to interfere with exposure. Still, if you happen to use one of those common brands and don’t mind disconnecting from the world, Triggertrap is $18.50.
