Feel the force.

The official – yes official! – Star Wars Darth Lightsaber. Yours for a mere 119.92 ($197.92). They don’t say whether it’s a fully working laser powered saber, and to be honest we don’t like to ask. ‘Want to buy this you will, if Star Wars like you, yes. (Okay, we’ll stop talking Yoda-style now.) This kick-ass Lightsaber is a beautifully built die-cast replica of evil Darth’s saber from the original Star Wars’ film..’

Hi Touch.

We’ve mentioned these puppies before, but Imaging Resource has a neat review of one of the latest Hi-Touch dye sublimation printers for home photos, the 730PS. Key points – * Super cool 6 x 8 prints as standard * High speed (print in 90 seconds) * Computer not needed * 6 in 1 memory card reader * High res (equivalent to 4800dpi in inkjet terms) * Price ($399.00). They like it. A lot! ‘You won’t find an inkjet printer built…

Shock save.

The Shock Zero static electricity eliminator looks like an interesting solution for a problem that most of us have faced. Careful with the paintwork though! ‘If the end of this product touches objects with static electricity, you can see with your naked eyes that static electricity discharges instantaneously and a spark occurs inside the product (if there is high-voltage static electricity) At this time, low-voltage static electricity gets discharged without occurrence of sparks.’

Ear what?

The Ear Doctor. I can hear the conversations now. I don’t care what they call it. If you reckon you’re coming near my lugs with that…that…monstrosity, you’ve got another think coming.

Vigilante tech.

Cloudmark, the company which created the P2P SpamNet community which uses ‘neighbourhood watch’ type tactics to identify and reject email spam, has just launched a free add-on service to combat online fraud. SpamNet subscribers – nearly a million of them – can now apparently rest easy knowing that they will avoid those nasty phishing messages about fake eBay, Citibank and Paypal account problems et al. Available for a $3.99 a month subscription fee.

Talk the talk.

The rest of the Internet call software business has got lost in all the recent frenzied Skype hype, but maybe that’s a mistake. Skype worked brilliantly when it came out, but since then I’ve found that it has been steadily degenerating in quality and useability, to the extent where I’ve just uninstalled it and instead started using the free Oz program Firefly. Last night I spent an hour or two chatting to my mate Chris in LA using it, and…

Shy tech.

Voice Cloak – ‘Raise or lower the pitch of your voice – change your online gender!’ Hmm, I suppose this could be classed as potential sleazetech, except I know that online gamer kids will love the chance to sound older, especially when they’re whupping their opponents big time. ‘Have you ever wanted to have a different voice? Now you can- at least while you are chatting to your friends online, or talking to people on Voice over IP (VoIP) connections….

The 1-click home.

Hmmm….. ‘So imagine how much easier things would be if you could open several doors in one building, or the doors to several buildings, via the same easy method?…Each kit contains a brass…
