Notion Ink Adam – a tablet computer that actually looks useful

The more details emerge about the new Notion Ink Adam tablet computer, the more interesting it looks. The combination of high resolution 1080p graphics, Flash playback, Android operating system, that super cool 180 degree swivel camera and built in 3G, WiFi and Bluetooth make for a super cool spec list. When you add-on the amazing dual screen mode which can deliver up to 16 hours between charges and you’ve got a potential world beater.   And who came up with that…

Command & Conquer goes freeware – classic games available as free download

Games giant Electronic Arts is about to release Command & Conquer 4, and as part of the promotion, it’s released the original classic Command & Conquer games as freeware downloads. I grabbed Tiberian Sun a few days ago and was quickly transported back to a time when sleep was a luxury I couldn’t afford. Unfortunately I got wiped fairly rapidly, but I’m willing to relearn my ‘build and mass attack’ strategy again. Oh yes. Tags: freeware, command+&+conquer, games

Convert Center – the ultimate online measurement conversion service

There are lots of measurement conversion services – and programs – out there, and we’ve covered our fair share of them in the past. This Convert Center however, takes the whole thing to a new level of detail and usefulness. Not only does it feature just about every type of unit you will ever need to convert, but it does so with a superbly fast and easy interface and a database which is one of the best we’ve seen in…

The Gripstick – Magnetic shotgun cartridge retriever

Chaps, there’s nothing worse than having to clean up after a weekend of removing peasants pheasants and riff-raff from the stately pile, which makes this Gripstick shotgun shell picker upper thingy such a bally bargain. Just wave the rod over the top of the spent shells and they’ll leap onto the magnetic end faster than you can say green welly. Adjustable height from 68 – 100 cm and the ability to grab up to 50 cartridges means you don’t even…

Lokkii Bucket BBQ – The simple portable bbq in a bucket

This Lokkii Bucket BBQ is as about as simple as barbecuing can get. It’s a small, steel bucket, with fold out legs, carry handle; and a removable grill. It comes with one of Lokkii’s famous, “no smell” bbq briquettes so all you need to do is add meat, or as we do here in Oz, add prawns. The briquette is a mixture of anthracite coal and charcoal and doesn’t need fire lighters. It contains nothing to taint the flavour of the food…

Supine Reading Glasses – Really relaxing reading

When I read in bed, the last thing I want to be doing is lying down flat. If I do, I know that I’ll be startled awake by the sound of the book I’ve just dropped hitting the floor as I fall aslep. So it’s with some reluctance I blog these Supine Reading Glasses. They have prisms in them to reflect the light 90, so you can hold your book normally but read it whilst lying down flat, or supine…

Talk n Play Toy – Because birds love gadgets too

I’ve seen toy mobile phones for children, this is the first toy mobile phone I’ve seen for birds. The Jungle Talk Talk n Play Toy is a smaller-bird friendly phone-like gadget that will play recorded sentences and sounds as they peck on different buttons. This will ensure your bird gets the full education it would have normally received whilst living in the wild. There’s a peck-proof mirror and a bird-proof chain, but unfortunately it doesn’t say anything about how easy…

You may need to explain your newfound talent in reading Chinese though, if you can’t already read it. ~US$62 from GeekStuff4U. G.ho.st – A complete virtual computer in your browser

G.ho.st is a virtual computer desktop environment that runs inside a web browser. The idea is that you can log onto your virtual computer from anywhere and you’ll not only have all your files, photos, music and so on, but also your familiar applications, email and contacts in one place. Sure there are a million portable, free, and online apps that can do all of this, but G.ho.st merges them all and turns online cloud computing into something that’s familiar…
