If you’ve ever traveled to the fair land of India, you’ll know how tricky it can be to travel around using a taxi or rickshaw. The problem is the opportunist drivers who think any tourist is ripe for exploitation and who will try their best to rip you off by taking the long…

Sensor Sense – easily access what your phone sensors see in real time [Freeware]

Your smartphone can capture a lot more information from its environment than you can. It can sense what the sound levels are, your exact long & lat location, the light levels where you are, gravity, magnetics, temperature and more. So wouldn’t it be nice to be able to quickly scan one or more of these readings to see what’s going on?

IObit Uninstaller 4 – powerful free uninstaller removes programs and stubborn Windows toolbars at a stroke [Freeware]

It’s a fact of life that after a while every Windows computer on the planet gets filled up with junk programs. It doesn’t matter if you’re talking browser addons or old discarded programs, it continually accumulates as the months and years go by. And eventually it takes up too much disk space, and slows down your PC until it feels ancient and crusty. So it’s always useful to remember that you can do something about it quite easily.

TunnelBear Mobile – excellent free WiFi security tool now available on Android and iPhone [Freeware]

The golden rule is never do anything on public WiFi that’s super sensitive (like banking etc), just in case. But there are ways to reduced the risks.
