EssentialPIM Portable – freeware lets you carry your life around on a flash drive

This free EssentialPIM program is proof that even in this web-centric day and age people still enjoy using good old fashioned personal information managers to organise their lives. The freeware version offers the core features you need to stay on top of things, including a scheduler, to-do list, outliner and contact manager, although you’ll need to pony up $39.95 for the email functionality of the Pro version. One cute option is to install the whole thing onto a USB drive and carry it around…

Apparently this means you’ll enjoy up to 217% more protection than with a single A/V program like Kaspersky or Trend Micro installed. FrostWire – open source P2P freeware combines iTunes with BitTorrent

FrostWire is a cool freeware program for sharing files with your nearest and dearest. Or indeed other people. Based around the original Limewire code and firmly wedded to Open Source principles, this new product still centers around the Gnutella protocols, but adds in some super new sauce to make it even more useful. Like the ‘Automatically Add to iTunes’ feature which adds downloaded tracks to your iTunes account without you having to lift a finger. Neat.  FrostWire, a Gnutella Peer-to-Peer…
