11 e-mail commandments

The HBS site lists what it claims are the top 11 commandments for controlling your email. Mind you, I’m just a bit doubtful of any group who can proffer a rule like : 11. Your e-mail is hackable and retrievable, and it can be used against you. Use only when absolutely necessary. Huh?

The Neco friendly, silent PC

Japanese giant NEC has just launched a ‘boxless’ silent PC which it claims is the most eco-friendly machine on the market. The PowerMate Eco has no fan, no lead in the motherboard and no boron in its 15″ LCD display. I also think it looks kind of cool too, which makes me wonder whether this could be the kind of box to eventually and successfully invade the living room.

Here’s a great BBC piece about an Australian hospital treating a young man’s burns via email. Apparently the mother took snaps of the injuries and sent them by email to the specialist who then advised on treatment from 1100 kms away.
