Whatever happened to remote teleworking? They promised us a life of leisure with no commuting, more time with the dog, less stress and all round roses and champagne. Well maybe I’m missing something, but the roads still look massively jammed up to me, and there’s no love and flowers flowing around the intersections as far as I can see.

Livebeats delivers live concerts to the world
The music business is in a state of…ah…change? Is that an understatement? CD sales are dying, and although MP3 downloads are rising it’s not enough to compensate for lost revenue and keep those expensive music lawyers in the style to which they’re accustomed. Their saviour seems to be live music, now enjoying something of a resurgence.

There have been a few different tosses at making a flying car. We’ve seen the Maverick, and the Terrafugia Transition, but there’s a new kid on the block, and he’s taking a new spin on things. It’s called the PAL-V, and this sporty car will not only look awesome on the road, but can take to the skies after it transforms into a gyrocopter.

There are a lot of musicians out there. Those who are in the field of music know how difficult it is to catch a break, as there is so much competition. Keeping up with rent and bills in a creative career, especially one that only provides income spontaneously from various gigs, can be rather difficult.

Many of us were not gifted with a green thumb. Sadly, many of us were born with the ability to kill plants faster than we can remember to water them. Plants can’t exactly tell you when they need nourishment or water, which is why the Koubachi WiFi Plant Sensor and App is so helpful.

Whenever we’re lounging around the house, we will often have either our laptop or tablet out with us so we can surf the web or watch movies. It’s quite common to prop up your tablet on a pillow or your leg, but as the backs of these devices are oftentimes slippery, you might accidentally knock it to the floor. All it takes is shifting around a bit, and you can have a cracked screen in no time flat.

If your brain just yearns to learn, there’s a good chance that you’re always trying to study the world around you. No subject is too great or small to you, but sometimes the smaller items that you’d like to study are a bit difficult to see. As you can’t exactly bring a full microscope out with you during you’re daily life, a pocket-sized one will just have to do.

Whenever something in our home is about to break, there’s no warning light or buzzer that’s going to go off. The only indicator that we usually get is the fact that the item isn’t working when we go and try to use it. You can try and be as thorough with your home inspections as you’d like to make sure that nothing breaks down, but you’ll likely over-look something at least once. Or maybe even twice.

There are four million mobile phones left in taxis each and every day by forgetful people. OK, so we’re probably exaggerating a touch, but it’s a huge number in any case, and we bet that every one of those good folk said ‘it’ll never happen to me’. The fact is that we do forget things all the time, and it can be massively annoying and disruptive.

Really, when it comes right down to it, what’s the point in taking fancy vacations to exotic locations if you can’t share the experience with other people? In the ancient past we would sit our victims down in darkened rooms and bore them rigid with 4 hour photo slideshows, complete with droning commentary and obscure jokes that no-one understands.

Have you ever sat in a movie theater and half way through the show thought ‘I could do better than this script’? Or groaned in amazement at the corny way a plot unfolded in a television play you were watching? For some reason this clever little Right Angle USB 3.0 Adapter really makes sense to me. There’s been a bunch of times when I’ve had to wrestle with USB devices because the computer or other bit of equipment has been jammed up against a wall, at which point I would have been really pleased to have this little fella along for the ride. There are few things more frustrating than finding yourself out and about on a business trip in a strange place and suddenly realising you’re almost out of power for your Important Little Gadgets. Sure you can find a nearby power socket if you’re brave enough to leech without blushing in a restaurant or airport lobby, but for most of us, it can induce something very close to gadget panic.

Here’s the thing. I never waste time on websites when I should be working. No really. I never dawdle over Hacker News, Reddit, slouch around BBC News or click and giggle at Cracked.com. Why would I do that stuff, when work’s so very very important? I’m sure you folks never do it either, and that it’s nose down from the moment you arrive at your desk till the moment they open the cage doors at the end of the day.
