These would have been called broadcasters back in the radio days. * Our system searchs the Internet looking for streams. * A short sample of their music or content is collected. * Their homepage is used to generate a…

United Nuclear – the Aladdin’s Cave for science nerds…

What is it that makes the United Nuclear chemicals and rare metals shop so fascinating? Is it the fact that you can buy Uranium, Caffeine or oddball materials like Wood’s Metal which melts in hot water? Or is it that in these terror filled times, it’s fun to play around with radioactive products without risk of getting shipped to a small camp in Cuba? Actually the whole main site is just mind blowing too (man I want me some of that Phosphorescent Powder…

Go2Web 2.0 – mega directory of new applications

Go2Web20.net is a very cool directory of Web 2.0 sites and services all delivered in a smooth, crunchy coat candy bar wrapping. The tag search, sorting and mini logo icons make for a compelling browse experience, however at the end of the day the whole thing highlights just how ‘me-too’ and non-useful many of these new sites are. Real innovation is still very hard to find, isn’t it? Definitely worth a bookmark! Tags: gotoweb20, web+2.0, website+directory

USB Scrolling LED Screen – desktop conversation gets geekier

This new USB Scrolling LED Screen may well prove to be one of the most significant advances in intra-office communications that has ever been developed. Imagine a world where cubicle dwellers never have to speak to each other again. Where conversations are, by necessity, kept to the barest minimum – in this case 253 characters in length. Where the boss has to wait patiently for you to finish typing before reading your ‘Get Lost I’m worki..’ response. Oh yes. $37.00.  8…

SinkPositive – try not to sink about it too carefully

Sinkpositive is one of those brilliant ideas that almost, but not quite, works. It’s not the implementation so much as the whole danged concept of washing your hands over a loo pan that will probably have the ladies reaching for their lace hankies and smelling salts. This has got to be a male invention, hasn’t it? And yes, it’s very eco-warrior indeed, which is fab. $99.00.  Benefits of the Sinkpositive Multi-Purpose Accessory Sink.
