Electric cars are developing at a rapid speed nowadays, alongside improvements in battery technology and charging infrastructure. But it looks as though there may be even more to come in the future, if this new technology from Nissan takes hold.
3D printing is definitely the cool hip thing to do nowadays, at least judging by the number of printers you see launching on the crowdfunding sites. But one area that’s still a bit of a mystery is the budget end of the market, namely 3D pen printers, which offer similar 3D capabilities, but via a handheld device.

And boom, before you could catch your breath, the future hit us square in the face. Nissan Motors, purveyors of fine electric vehicles to the environmentally friendly has taken the bold and perhaps prescient step of launching an all-electric van and people carrier, aiming EV technology smack at the center of the white van man culture.

Remember the 90s when everything cool came in holograms? Morphotonix has now taken that same aesthetic to an unlikely place – chocolate.
Do you love food? Do you love fancy food such as cakes decorated so precisely they look like art and feel almost criminal to eat? Me too. So I was incredibly stoked to see that Structur3d Printing has pioneered a way to print with frosting using a 3D printer. Up till now 3D printers have mostly been confined to printing using some kind of plastic only, but not any more.
3D printing is hands down one of the coolest recent innovations we’ve yet seen, but one of the hurdles of printing in 3D is that you have to be able to design in 3D, and if you’re the kind of person who can’t draw a straight line, working in the 3rd dimension might be a little troubling. We reckon that deep down everyone would like to be a fluent linguist in multiple languages. It’s just so cool to be able to walk into a room and start chatting away in a different language to a friend or family member. As someone who can barely speak one language, that makes me severely envious.
The statistics are pretty grim. Every year over 17 million people suffer a heart attack of one type or another, with 700,000 of those happening in Europe alone. And one thing the experts agree on is the fact that in many cases prompt action in the first few minutes can go a long way towards helping to save that person’s life.
Open sourced software has been around for ages, but cranking out open source computer hardware has been a completely different animal to crack. Something about all those bits and bobs, and solder maybe. But now it looks as though the inimitable Andrew “bunnie” Huang has managed to bring it all together along with the help of a large crowd.
