A tale of two platforms

Exhibit One: Android Market reaches 100,000 applications. Exhibit Two: The Future of the Symbian Platform. In one instance we see a relentless process of growth, in the other a growing catalog of confusion, delay, change and uncertainty. Case rests. Tags: a+tale+of+two+platforms, android, symbian

Party Popper Machine – automate those boring party chores

This quaint and amusing Party Popper Machine takes the drudge out of tedious party frolics by helping with the activation of poppers. No, we’re not sure either, but there’s clearly a sensible explanation somewhere in the depths of the artist’s brain. Anyhoo, you can now have the pleasure for a measly £420.00. Excluding poppers naturally.  The Party Popper Machine by Martin Smith continues his theme of devices of celebration for Laikingland. In homage to the humble plastic party toy and to…

Happy Ball – making pets stronger, having more energy

Happy Ball apparently makes pets more relaxed, while ‘clearing and improving mind‘. Not sure how the retailers have that inner knowledge of Fido’s mental state, but we absolutely completely believe their spiel. Totally. That’s why we’re going to send over the $145.00 immediately –  and maybe purchase something worryingly called a Neutralizer, which is part of the happy pet kit. We love technology, we do.  Happy Ball is making our Pets stronger, having more energy, more relaxed, clearing and improving mind and focus as…

Level of bacteria on elevator buttons 3x higher than on public toilet seats? Peeew!

photo The folks at Microban have just released the results of some research done by the University of Arizona which suggests that the level of bacteria on elevator buttons is three times higher than the amount found on public toilets. Yes, Microban are trying to sell anti-bacterial stuff, but still. Yeeeww?!?  Research carried out in hotels, restaurants, banks, offices and airports, showed that the level of bacteria on lift buttons averaged 2,200 colony forming units per square centimetre, compared to 8…

Neorest 600 Toilet – specially for those whose waste is worth cherishing

Doesn’t look much does it? But this unprepossessing Neorest 600 Toilet comes with a remote control, heated seat with temperature control, remote seat opening (for those times when you’re just too lazy to bend down we guess), a catalytic ion barrier to repel ‘particles‘ and a front and rear Washlet washing system. 5 Eccentric Saunas – some weird hot places to chill

Five Eccentric Saunas. Proof that you don’t have to sweat it out in a boring old wooden box. I particularly like the high flying one in a Gondola. Weirdsville.  When you imagine a sauna or an infrared sauna, the most common picture that comes to mind is that of a traditional sauna, which can often be found in a luxury hotel or leisure centre complex. The world of traditional and infrared saunas is expansive and as we delve deeper into…

Inception – done hard core geek style

Software Engineer A. R. Karthick is clearly a coder with some needs. One of them is to understand how the hit movie Inception works on a programmatical level. So he’s gone and uploaded a hard core geek interpretation to GitHub to pull it all together. Don’t expect to understand unless you code. Just marvel. [Thanks Tom!]  Programmatic representation of the Brilliant movie: INCEPTION by the Genius Director THY name is Christopher Nolan! My tribute to Nolan in “C” Language and…

Candwich – Yes it’s a canned sandwich

Too busy to stop and eat? Need food that will fit in the beer cooler? Never mind, you can always try the Candwich. Comes in three different, long-life, ready-to-eat varieties; Peanut Butter and Strawberry Jelly Jam, Peanut Butter and Grape Jam and BBQ Chicken(?!). I wonder if the stuff in the can looks like the picture? Each meal is about 90g so it’s more a snack rather than a three course meal. Does anyone know if Nostradamus predicted anything about…
