Well actually it doesn’t, but that’s another story, eh?  And now for the twist! BuzzShed is more than just social bookmarking for videos. Some BuzzShed members are in fact advertisers that pay…

Woosim 3 inch Waterproof Mobile Printer – splash happy printouts at last?

This Woosim 3 Inch Waterproof Printer currently doesn’t appear to have a name, price or even purpose in life. But it leaves us with many questions, does it not children? Like, why waterproof? Why a small LCD screen and not a big colour DVD compatible lushout? And why orange and not pink polka dots? These and more questions will, no doubt, be answered soon. Although judging by the two chaps doing some sort of…ahem…dodgy deal in the car, probably too…

The Gold Dress – or 275,000 ways to say ‘it’s heavy, Malcolm’

This gold dress contains 325 Austrian gold coins, weights 8 kg and is valued at $275,000. Speechless.  Tanaka Kikinzoku Jewellery K.K. has created a dress using 325 Austrian gold coins issued to commemorate the Vienna Philharmonic, which it will display for a week at its store in Tokyo’s upscale Ginza district. Two men’s jackets also using gold coins, together valued at about 127 million yen, will also be shown. Tags: gold+dress, fashion, bullion

GMail problems?

Brian over at Gizmodo posts about problems with Gmail/Google Mail, and I have to say that he’s right. There’s something not quite right with the service. I’ve definitely noticed delays in messages coming and going, as well as messages disappearing completely in both directions. I even discovered that an account retrieval I’d set up had mysteriously just switched itself off without warning (I only discovered that my emails weren’t arriving properly by accident).  Another colleague tells me that his service simply won’t…

Video Job Shop – video resumes and job offers wander online, hmm…

VideoJobShop. Video resumes and job offers online. Hmm…not sure what to say about this. Is video the best way to advertise for jobs or try and get one? Not sure. Most of the job offer footage is basic stock stuff from company promos, and the video resumes seem to be rather…um…awkward. For a fun few minutes though, check out the spokesperson resume videos from the Arts and Media section. This video in particular deserves to get some star treatment on YouTube. Hoot! [Thanks Alan]….

Groqit – keep track of what you own and avoid buying it twice

Groqit. This barcode reading ‘personal inventory manager’ gets our vote as the saddest gadget of modern times. The idea is you’ve accumulated so much stuff – like some pathetic forgetful bag-person – that you need to carry around another piece of stuff to stop you repeating your mistakes. Dude, if your memory is this bad – or your possessions that many – then you probably need more help than this thing can supply. One for the Stuff Anonymous meeting perhaps? (“Hi, I’m Cindy and I…

Boiling water with sound waves? – new invention baffles scientist

A 92 year old New Zealander is claiming to have invented a product which can boil water using sound. The as yet unnamed device, which looks like a smooth silver golf ball, is baffling scientists, or at least one particular professor who’s taken a look. It could of course be a huge prank, but if it isn’t, it’ll be a pretty cool gadget to have in your cubicle or kitchen. This news report video is interesting. Save Windows XP – whoa, weird stuff happening alert…

Save Windows XP. Er…ah…huh? OK, so in all your wildest dreaming, would you ever imagine that Microsoft would have produced an operating system that was SO bad, that someone somewhere set up a petition to keep using the older version? Could you? This must rank as the most humiliating thing ever to happen to a software company. Ever. And worse, 57,000 people have already signed up. Sheesh! I’ve got to say, I actually enjoy using XP right now (it’s really really stable as long…
