One Click Recorder – create powerful presentations with soundtrack

One Click Recorder. OK, gotta admit, this one has got me beat. I can see where it works, but I can’t for the life of me work out how it works, what it creates where stuff is stored or anything remotely useful. The blurb says that you can ‘produce, present and record’ virtually any form of presentation, but what does that mean? Powerpoint? PDF? Does the device have on-board memory for storage? The spec doesn’t say. Throw us a frickin’…

BlueTrek SurfaceSound Duo – NXT flat speaker visor car kit turns your headset into a handsfree. Why?

At first glance the Bluetrek SurfaceSound Duo seems an eminently useful idea. Clip it to your car visor and when you enter the vehicle just pop your headset into the slot to get a handsfree voice system for your mobile phone. It’s only when you think about it a bit more, and realise that a headset offers more hands-free voice clarity and convenience than this thing can ever provide, that you realise this is a product without a reason for…

Kitty Wigs – er…

Kitty Wigs. Um…not sure there’s much we can say about this small online store. $50.00 per wig complete with a ‘paw prrrooof case’ and small rattle. There’s a Flickr group too? Yowsers!  Kitty Wigs is a product of the feverish imagination of Julie Jackson and her siamese partner in crime, Boone. Sometimes the pressure of Julie’s day job…combined with Boone’s constant state of leisure results in loud music, wigs and dancing. This has brought such great stress relief (particularly during the holidays), that we decided…

Treefingers – a kind of web page Twitter with Digg-like voting

Treefingers. Hmm…what to say? It’s a kind of cross between Twitter and…um…well a place where you post random thoughts about anything that comes into your head or heart and readers vote them up or down. A lot of the posts currently seem to deal with lost love, is that a sign of the times, or just an indication that web geeks should get out more? Ah me, Philosophy 101 beckons. In a funny kind of way, it’s compelling, which is…

Yule Doos – decorate the halls with boughs of holly…and stuff

Yule Doos. Hmm, call us old fashioned – hey not so loud, OK? – but does it not seem a little strange to stick dog poo on a tree as a Christmas decoration? No? Ah, fair enough. So grab ‘em while they’re…ahem…hot. $5.95.  The only ornament of it’s kind! A glittering doo hung from a satin ribbon. It looks like a piece of dog doo complete with frosted snow! Surprise ingredients in Fast Food – stuff you probably don’t want to know

Surprise Ingredients in Fast Food. Look, I know you don’t want to know. But better out than in, eh?  For coffee drinkers, it would seem fairly safe to just grab a quick cup of coffee at McDonald’s on the way to work. But many health conscious people would object to it also including this list of ingredients: sodium phosphate, sodium polyphosphate, Di-Acetyl Tartrate Ester of Monoglyceride, sodium stearoyl lactylate, tetra sodium pyrophosphate, sodium hexametaphosphate, sodium citrate, and carrageenan. Do health…
